Welcome to ACE Tasmania 2010

Our events schedule for 2010 certainly hit the ground running with our annual Awards Dinner, held 12 March at the University Club, Sandy Bay.

The Governor of Tasmania, His Excellency Peter Underwood AC, presented the following awards at this gala "black-tie" event which was very much enjoyed by all members and guests who attended:

Tasmania Award: Professor Daryl le Grew
The Christopher Newell Award for Social Justice: Rt Rev Dr Chris Jones
FACE awarded to: Mrs Judy Travers
Life Membership awarded to: Mary Rattray
Service Medal: Prudence Francis
Tasmanian Quality Teaching Awards: Annette Hollingsworth, Laura Eiszele and Chante Ling.

This event proved once again that whilst we are a relatively small branch compared with some of our mainland partners, we are indeed a professionally vibrant and relevant group.

With such a successful beginning, we are all looking forward to a full and professionally rewarding calendar of dinners, presentations, orations and social events across 2010 - so watch this space for updates - and have your say.
