Message from the President

Welcome to the NSW section of the ACE website, and thanks for taking a moment to note some of what we do. The great value that the Australian College of Educators offers is the opportunity to members to share at a professional level with others from every other aspect of education.

As the New South Wales Branch President for 2011-2013, it's going to be a privilege and an even exciting, experience working with you as we move towards in preparing a better College than today. I am looking forward in working and supporting you in advancing the education profession in the year ahead. I am also looking forward in promoting our various goals of the College across all sectors and levels for the individual and collective success of Australia's educators.

An examination of our membership shows that it comes from government, Catholic and independent schools; from pre-school, primary, secondary, university and TAFE; from pre-service, early-career, middle managers, leaders and policy makers, and retired educational professionals. What unites us is the conviction that education is a major key for society in delivering a better world for our children and grandchildren, and the belief that those who share that conviction benefit from each other's wisdom and insight.

Other parts of this website reveal the amount of activity among the 19 regions within the state. Look at the Branch Yearplanner, or the Events Calendar for more details. The intent of each activity is to promote the various goals of the College: to provide a national voice for educators, to promote both professional standards for and professional recognition of educators, to enhance the status of education as a profession and to provide opportunities for professional learning.
