Leadership - a matter of formation: Essential elements for Educational Leadership and Management
This presentation will appeal to educators grappling with the notion of leadership formation. Similarly, if you are in middle management or an aspiring leader, the session will open the Flinders rationale to leadership formation. The critical priority for educational leadership programmes is the development of relational sensibilities; a priority that is all too often glazed over.
Associate Professor Dr David Giles
Dr David Giles has recently been appointed Associate Professor (Educational Leadership and Management) within the School of Education, Flinders University. David is a former primary / secondary teacher and teacher educator across four universities. David has also been a Dean of a School of Education and integral to the development of several Masters of Educational Leadership programmes. He brings his research interests in Appreciative Inquiry and Phenomenology to his approach to leadership formation.
