EVENT OVERVIEW
Is there a problem in your school that is crying out for creative new approaches? How can you quickly generate innovative ideas for difficult school issues?
The Fresh Approach to Education forum will focus on how innovation can be encouraged, creative solutions enabled and new arenas embraced in education. It will also encourage a revisit of old ideas in new contexts, or old solutions to new problems. Pedagogies and practices will be explored, with a focus on their practical application.
In education, as in life in general, it may well be true that the only constant is change. In order to cope with change we need to continually try new ideas and approaches. In a year which has already seen so many changes to both our educational and economic landscape, the need to take a fresh approach to the way we engage and manage student learning is growing stronger by the day.
The hands-on sessions delivered at the forum are designed to unleash the creativity in practical underpinnings of innovative practices in teaching and learning. The presenters at this forum will use a variety of powerful techniques for idea generation, idea evaluation and implementation. A wealth of great ideas for the education sector will be delivered.
Key themes of the Teaching and Learning forum include;
* using learning spaces, both old and new, creatively
* employing immersive technology to best effect
* harnessing learning technologies to benefit learning
* recycling effective approaches in new or different contexts
* enabling cross-fertilisation of good practice across disciplines and between institutions and
* developing networks of practice.
Hear from a variety of senior leaders across all education sectors including the Department of Education, the Catholic Education Office and Tertiary, Secondary and Primary representatives. Keynote addresses from Professor Steven Dineham, ACER and Lyndsay Connors, President of ACE, will be highlights.
For NSW teachers accredited at Professional Competence, participation in this conference could be counted towards your Teacher Identified professional development. This would need to be validated by your teacher accreditation authority or their delegate (usually your principal).
