Bruce McCourt, MACE
Bruce has extensive experience (29 years) in schools as a teacher and leader in New South Wales and the ACT. He has held leadership positions at school and system levels of the public education system including NSW District Offices, ACT Central Office and school-based positions in both jurisdictions.
Bruce's leadership roles within NSW and the ACT have included:
- Middle years literacy and numeracy consultant with the NSW Department of Education and Training
- Team Leader ACT High School Development Program
- Acting Manager ACT Curriculum Support
- Deputy Principal Campbell High School
Bruce's experience in leading curriculum and improving student outcomes has enabled him to achieve successful whole school reform to significantly improve student learning outcomes. This has been acknowledged at a state level winning an ACT Department Excellence Award in leadership development.
Bruce is a strong advocate of evidence-based continuous improvement in student learning and has worked extensively with teachers in both jurisdictions to build teacher capacity to make improvements that focus on curriculum and assessment and creating structures that optimize student outcomes.
He has been a member of ACE for nine years and has held executive positions in the ACT branch for 4 years.
