The Australian National Museum of Education, University of Canberra, in association with the ACT Branch of the Australian College of Educators held the second Annual Historical Perspectives on Education Lecture on Wednesday 3rd September at the National Library of Australia. Emeritus Professor Noeline Kyle presented an entertaining and fascinating lecture “Mad Aunts, Illegitimate Children and Royal Bloodlines”: Family, Women and History in 2008. Forty five guests enjoyed good conversation and light refreshments prior to the lecture. The ACE ACT Branch has continued its support of the ANME and the role it plays in providing a greater awareness of historical perspectives on education and ensuring informed and scholarly foundations, so that educators and educational policy and curriculum makers can operate in an historical context when building for the future.
