TAS - 2010 Richard Selby Smith Oration

The 2010 Richard Selby Smith Oration was held in Tasmania on Thursday 15th July at the Stanley Burbury Theatre.  It was the fourth annual event to celebrate the life and work of Professor Richard Selby Smith.

The Oration is a high profile free public lecture, organized by the Tasmanian Branch of the Australian College of Educators, supported by the Selby Smith Family and the University of Tasmania. It is listed on the University Community Cultural Events Program. It is well supported by the members of the education community in Tasmania.

Professor Selby-Smith made significant contributions to education nationally and in Tasmania over a long period. He was a foundation member of the Australian College of Educators and an active and long serving member of the Tasmanian Branch. He was also a Fellow of the College.
