A W Jones Oration
The A.W. Jones Oration is the major function of the SA Branch of The Australian College of Educators. Held every second year since the Inaugural Lecture by Professor Hedley Beare in 1989, the A. W. Jones Orations serve both as a celebration of the contribution of one of the State's most distinguished educators, the late Dr Alby Jones, and as a continuing contribution to educational debate at state and national levels.
Dr Alby Jones passed away in Adelaide, on Friday 13 June, 2003, at the age of 90. A Founder member of the College, former College National President and Honorary Fellow, Alby Jones had been a member of the SA Branch Committee for 43 years.
