2011 Credit Union Yerthoappendi Award

The South Australian Branch of ACE Presents a new award

2011 Credit Union SA ACE Yerthoappendi* Award for beginning Aboriginal educators

The winner of this award will receive $2,000 to support their ongoing professional development as an educator.

(The award will be presented at the President's Dinner in September 2011.)

This award is designed to encourage ACE members who are Aboriginal and who have been working in the role of an educator for up to 5 years to further their professional development and apply their learning to their work. It is also an opportunity for ACE members to recognise the importance of Aboriginal educators being positive role models for all Aboriginal students.

*The Kaurna word yerthoappendi means "to grow (someone) up" or "to educate".

Permission to use this Kaurna word in the name of this award was given by Kaurna Warra Pintyandi at their meeting on 16 August 2010.
