Sam Power Biennial Award

The Sam Power Biennial Award for Excellence in Literacy Education is funded by her family and the Darling Downs Regional Group of ACE in honour of Sam Power and jointly offered by the ACE Darling Downs Regional Group and the English Teachers Association of Queensland.

The Sam Power Award is open to permanent, part-time and casual teachers of English and/or Literacy involved in any educational setting in Queensland. Teachers who are currently studying and/or researching in the area are also eligible. Applicants who undertake projects in the area of boys in literacy are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Award will next be made in 2010. Nominations are due by 16 July 2010, and the Award presentation will be held in conjunction wit the Darling Downs Regional Group’s Sam Power Oration to be held on 7 September 2010 in Toowoomba.
