At this time of year, many Regional Groups organise events to acknowledge teachers and to thank them for all that they do for their students and the community. World Teachers’ Day is celebrated in over 100 countries and acknowledges the efforts of teachers in an increasingly complex, multicultural and technological society. I greatly admire the commitment of teachers in enhancing their professional knowledge, improving teaching practice, in engaging with their students, and in their ongoing relationships with the wider community.
