Report from Second Meeting of the ACEL ACE Task Force

The second meeting of the ACE-ACEL Task Force was chaired by Professor Ken Eltis on 21st September in Sydney.

Those in attendance included Denise Bradley, ACE President, John DeCourcy, ACE NSW State President, Neville Highett, ACEL President (teleconference from PNG), Chris Presland, ACEL Member Appointed Director, Graham Chadwick, ACEL NT Branch Director, and John Ewington, ACEL Tasmania Branch Director.  The CEOs of both organisations were also present.

The CEOs prepared context statements for ACE and ACEL that included each company’s purpose, history, branding, membership statistics and current and planned activities.  These statements enabled discussion around areas that are important to each organisation that should be maintained in a new venture.

Legal advice was tabled that assisted discussion around constitutional, legislative and taxation matters.  Both organisations also tabled audited reports that detailed the assets and liabilities of each organisation.

The Task Force will meet in Sydney on the 15th October.
