Enhancing the retention of young people to Year 12 especially through vocational skills project
Last year the College undertook management of a project Enhancing the retention of young people to Year 12 especially through vocational skills. This project was supported in part by funding from the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), and the ACE Foundation. The project has come to an end with the final report now available.
The outcomes of this significant research project that ACE has jointly funded are important and relevant, and have implications for current programs as well as planning for future programs designed to retain young people to complete Year 12 or its equivalent.
The College would like to acknowledge and thank the Project Advisory Group for their guidance and contribution to the research project. The group comprised of Mr Michael Battenally, immediate past President of the ACT Branch of ACE and Principal of Melba Copland Secondary School ACT; Ms Pam Caven, Director Stakeholder Engagement, TAFE Directors Australia; Liam Smyth, National Partnerships Team, DEEWR; and Anita Wesney, Manager Programs, ACE National Office.
